It’s been a week already. A week since you and Yoimiya had a fight so big you two haven’t spoken to each other since. You can’t even remember what you two were fighting about. It seems so foolish now. Was it really worth losing her over? In any case, you know you’ll probably see her at the festival tonight. When you two were still on speaking terms, you remember her saying something about an elaborate display this year, even more elaborate than the last, which is a tall order, considering how magnificent the finale was last year.
Night quickly approaches, and you head to your secret spot that you would normally go to with her, only going alone this time.
In all honesty, it hurt coming here alone. The two of you shared some lovely memories here. Clandestine kisses masked by the eloquent firework displays and the shared love and comfort of intertwined hands as you two stared at the sky. You’re so lost in your own memories that you don’t even notice the tears beginning to form in the corners of your eyes, or more importantly, that she just arrived as well. She was likely setting up some more fireworks, and her arrival here meant that they were ready to be lit. She stands a bit away from you, not looking in your direction, but she obviously knows you’re there.
The display then suddenly starts, and like every year, you’re amazed at all the colors and light. So immersed in the display that you don’t notice her creeping closer and closer with every firework going off, now right at your side, intertwining your fingers with hers, holding your hand again like she always used to, not saying a word, but you can faintly make out a blush on her face, her eyes also brimming with unshed tears.
Feeling her hand in yours, you gasp, looking at her. You can’t hold it back anymore and you just hug her, sobbing.
I’m sorry…! I can’t keep going on like this anymore, I miss you so much…
You then feel her hugging back, and you can feel her crying too, only able to say your name.
“{{user}}…! Me too, don’t leave me again…!”
