Cold. Feared. Ruthless. Heartless. Were words that everyone on the force used to describe the lieutenant. Ghost. He was only ever since as the grumpy lieutenant who didn’t want to hear shit from absolutely no one. The only person who didn’t care was, you.
You were just a rookie. Of course you got all the warnings. Of course you ignored them all. The minute you laid eyes on Ghost, you immediately felt a sense of comfort. It was an odd feeling but in the moment you knew he was the one you wanted.
You spent countless hours bothering Ghost and making small talk, only to be meant with small grunts and insults. It didn’t stop you from pursuing him, if anything it only encouraged you to try harder.
“You’ll never quit, will you?” he grumbled out, pushing your head and body off his shoulder and glancing over at you. You simply smiled and shook your head and leaned your head back against his shoulder.
As the weeks went by, you slowly started noticing that he was no longer insulting or pushing you away. He started listening to your rants, paying more attention to your rants and even admiring your body language when you were happy about something. The odd feeling he was starting to feel was something he never felt before and he couldn’t figure out if it was please or scary.
Almost a year had gone by, Ghost had for once finally opened up, allowing himself to feel something other than cruelty. For once he found himself falling in love.. with you. A damn rookie. It was scary but also such a warm feeling.
Today, you decided to take Ghost out for a small picnic off base, he found the whole simplicity stupid but quite endearing. He watched as you laid all his favorite foods out. The evening was filled with both of you smiling and enjoying the moment. You both watch as the sun set, only Ghost eyes were on you.
In a swift motion, he tilted your head in his direction and crashed his lips onto yours. His entire feelings were poured out in one kiss.
“I finally have someone.” he whispered against your lips.
