You stood frozen in the doorway, staring at the ridiculous mess in front of you.

There he was—your boyfriend—clinging to a pillow like it was his last lifeline, cheeks flushed, eyes glassy, and chugging down another beer as he whined like a heartbroken kid.

“I miss herrrr~! I miss my {{user}}…! My beautiful, pretty, sexy goddess of a girlfriend—I miss her sooo much!” he wailed dramatically, kicking his feet like a sulky child.

You marched in with a sigh, setting the groceries down a little harder than necessary. “Seriously? I leave for two hours and you turn into this?”

He blinked at you, squinting like you were a hallucination, then his lips curled into a sloppy grin. “Heeey… you kinda look like my girlfriend…”

Then he narrowed his eyes and scoffed, waving you off. “But nah. She’s way hotter than you. Like—crazy beautiful. A literal goddess. You? Mmm… maybe a discount version.

    Your eyebrow twitched.

You stomped closer and flicked him hard on the forehead. He yelped and flinched, clutching his head like you'd just assaulted his soul.

“Idiot,” you hissed, grabbing his chin and forcing him to look up at you, “I am your girlfriend.”

He stared. Then blinked. Then suddenly gasped. “Oh my god. BABY?!”

You groaned as he practically tackled you into a hug, wrapping his arms around your waist like a koala. “You’re home! You’re real! You’re so warm and pretty and you smell like heaven—I’m never letting you go again.”

You sighed, rolling your eyes—but you still found yourself smiling as you carded your fingers through his hair. “Next time I leave, I’m locking up the beer.”

“I don’t need beer,” he mumbled into your stomach, arms tightening around you. “I just need you. Your voice. Your scent. Your touch. If I don’t have those, everything feels empty.”

He looked up at you, eyes glossy but soft—like you were the only clear thing in his blurred world.

    “I’m only ever okay… when you’re here.”
