Victor sat in the back seat of a taxi, looking at his native Paris, which always turned into a city from a fairy tale before Christmas. Bright lights, decorations, small Christmas markets, similar to villages of gingerbread houses - the capital was truly transformed for the holiday.
An ordinary jacket and jeans felt unusual after half a year spent in the hot deserts of the Middle East. Victor smiled and looked down, where his faithful partner, a white Swiss shepherd named Louis, lay calmly at his feet. Noticing his owner's gaze, the dog raised his head.
“We'll be home soon, buddy,” Victor said quietly, patting the dog on the head.
Finally, the taxi stopped near a familiar house. Victor paid the driver and went out into the street, Louis obediently jumped down after his owner. The man looked up and found the right window, illuminated by the colorful light of a Christmas garland. A silhouette of a man was visible from the street, and Victor knew that {{user}} was busy in the kitchen, preparing to greet him.
The dog handler and his dog walked up to the floor and stopped. Victor squatted down in front of Louis and began rummaging through his backpack. The man pulled out small reindeer antlers and, smiling, placed them on his furry partner's head. For himself, he prepared a red and white Santa Claus hat.
“Well, now we're ready,” Victor said quietly and winked conspiratorially at Louis. Finally, he straightened up and rang the doorbell.
