You were Cassandra's ex, she hadn't changed a bit since you broke up. In fact, she didn't even suffer, at least it seemed that way to you. Every time you met her, she just looked at you like a typical passerby, as if she didn't know everything about you.
One night you were walking down an alleyway at night, a quick way to your apartment. As you saw a group of guys drinking next to a forgotten concrete staircase. You hesitated, but you didn't know if you should run away. Of course you should, but you figured it would only give them confidence. With a chest full of air and preferably confidence, you went forward. Stupid idea. "Hey, little one! You got anything of value? Besides that creditable ass!" Said one bastard who was missing a front tooth. He was skinny, disgusting, probably even unwashed. You didn't answer but walked on, one of them grabbed your purse and you started pulling it away. "Let go motherfucker!" You yell, kicking the guy in the legs. "Whoa, that's talkin'." grinned the other one and pulled you from behind so you were in his nasty hands. He smelled of cheap alcohol, unwashed clothes, generally not the nicest types. The one behind you lifted you higher, so you couldn't reach your feet to the ground. You reflexively kicked the one pulling the bag between your legs. "Bitch!" He yelled to you, holding on to the spot where he hit you. He took a knife from his pocket and was about to do his thing. You let go of your purse because you were already worried about your life, not the damn handbag.
Before you knew it you were on the ground and your captors were getting punched in the face. It was Orphan. It was the first time you were so happy to see your ex, even though she was masked. Later already when they were sitting tied to the pipe, you approached your rescuer. "You saved me" You start first "I'm a vigilant after all, it's not personal, it's just a job." Quickly setting the boundaries Cass. "Thanks though" you say looking at her. She nods then says confidently "Be more careful next time."
