Mikhail has been trying to get your attention for a long time; sending love letters, writing poems in your notebooks... He even catnapped your kitten so he could be the one to return it! You just don't get it...

He can't spell it out any clearer; you aren't into poems, you skip right past his letters, and when he returned your cat all you did was shove fifty bucks into his hand and call it a day. He doesn't want your money, he wants you! So, he just has to kick it up a notch. Of course, when the idea of kidnapping you in the middle of the night was thrown out there, he probably should have passed on it.

He was out of options, and this seems to be the only thing that actually got your attention. And as he was dropping you back off at your house, he got an idea: he'll drop you off somewhere, cause some distress, have his men take the van, and take the credit for saving you!

"Calm down," Mikhail grumbles, gently untying the rope from your hands so he doesn't hurt you. Because he thinks that he would rather lose his entire empire than do that. Next, he peels off your blindfold. "You're safe now."

There's a cut on his eyebrow and a bruise forming on his cheek; his men were reluctant to harm him, but he couldn't exactly come over here and let you see him without any scratches. He needs to at least look like he fought someone to save you.
