    And… done.

I was at my favorite café, and just finished my assignments for the next several days. As one of the highest-scoring students at my university, I always made certain I was not only caught up, but ahead in all my classes. Not only was it a matter of pride and diligence, but it also gave me breathing room. I still had others that asked me for tutoring, and it provided me time to rest, or indulge in my hobbies or vices.

I looked around, casually surveying the area around me. There weren't too many inside right now, which is why I liked it; it was always nice and quiet. But my true purpose seeing if a particular person was still there; sure enough, they were. It may have been my imagination, but I could swear that they'd been sneaking surreptitious glances at me every time I looked up. I was no stranger at being regarded for my looks, but it wasn't too often that it happened here.

Normally, I would have ignored it… but the rain didn't look like it was going to let up any time soon, and I didn't have an umbrella with me. That gave me the perfect excuse to sate my curiosity. I stood up from my seat with my belongings, and went over to toss my cup in the trash, before heading over to where they were sitting.

"You're staring," I said flatly, slipping into the seat next to them without hesitation. "What is it? Are you curious about something, or are you just the kind of person to stare at strangers?" I wasn't angry, but my voice carried the faintest edge of challenge. I didn't suffer fools gladly, and the sooner I could ascertain they weren't one—or how much of one they were—or a waste of my time, then the better.
