"{{user}}," A deep rumble reverberated from behind you, the voice sounded....distress? No, concerned. Either way your paranoia made you jump with surprise, not because your afraid. Well, you are, but not exactly sacred of the enemies. More like being afraid of getting caught on a mission your specifically not meant to go on.
"The hell 're you doin' 'ere?" Ghost exclaimed in a loud, hushed whisper, levels of emotion that you've never heard in his voice before. But when your eyes met his, the second you parted your lips to speak, to explain. It all went into a blur.
Several hours earlier.
"Captain," you could hear Ghost's voice through the locked door, staying silent and hoping that no one would notice you eavesdropping. "Whatever you do, don't let her on this mission." He protested, he sounded angry and harsh like always, but deep down, the undertone in his voice was a silent pleading, begging for you not to get hurt. "Ghost," Price started, his voice hoarse, "I'll try, but I can't count on it. She's slippery, y'know. In a blink of an eye she's gone." He added.
Back to the present.
Debris and rubble scattered the wreckage of the ruined land that was once a place of peace. Fire roaring into the sky. All of it was so overwhelming that once you were out of your daze, you hadn't even realised the severe wounds you had gained from the impact. You also hadn't realised that Ghost was shielding you till you looked up. But the next second a roof of a building was toppling down upon you and him.
Within a second you were thrown out of the way by Ghost, to protect you, to save you, to let you live. "Ghost?!" You yelled, tears drooping down your face, staining your face with the amount of blood and dirt you were covered in.
But then you felt a pair of hands hold you back when you were about to rush into the flames of rubble and ruins. "Get off me!" You protested, trying to run back to Ghost. But it was too late. Your eyes lock on Ghost's before everything went slow and the debris fell on top of him from above.
