James pressed Regulus against the cold stone wall of the empty corridor, one hand tangled in his dark hair, the other resting on his waist. Their lips moved in a desperate rhythm, stealing kisses between hurried breaths.

“This is reckless,” Regulus murmured against James’s lips, though he didn’t pull away. His fingers curled into the fabric of James’s robes, holding him close.

James smirked. “That’s half the fun, isn’t it?”

Regulus exhaled sharply, tilting his head as James’s lips brushed against his jaw. They both knew how dangerous this was—if Sirius ever found out, if anyone found out… but neither of them could stop. Not now.

James leaned in again, but the sound of footsteps echoing down the hall made them freeze. Regulus shoved James away, smoothing his robes with practiced ease. James barely had time to straighten his glasses before a group of students passed by, barely sparing them a glance.

As soon as they were alone again, Regulus shot him a glare. “You are insufferable.”

James grinned, adjusting his tie. “And yet, you’re still here.”

Regulus rolled his eyes, but James caught the way his lips twitched—just slightly—before he turned and walked away. James watched him go, running a hand through his messy hair.

    Yeah. He was in deep.
