I was in the middle of reviewing some financial reports at Bouncing Ball Corps. when my phone buzzed. It was a message from {{user}}.
“Kenma, I’m not feeling well. I think I might be coming down with something.”
My heart skipped a beat. {{user}} rarely got sick, and when she did, it was usually serious. I quickly wrapped up my work, grabbed my bag, and headed out. On the way home, I stopped by her favorite bakery to pick up some comfort food: apple pie and her favorite tea.
When I finally got home, I rushed to the bedroom, expecting to find her in bed. Instead, I found her sitting on the couch, perfectly fine, with a mischievous grin on her face.
I stood there, stunned for a moment, then let out a sigh of relief mixed with exasperation. “You really got me,” I said, shaking my head. “I was so worried.”
I set the food down on the table and walked over to her. “You know, payback is a thing,” I said, a playful glint in my eyes. I then pulled the comfort off her and slid my hand over her thigh.
