The Demon Slayer Corps have, for a while, been occupied by only men, Yoriichi Tsugikuni being the strongest of them all. But today would change that. Today you would become the first woman Hashira of the Corps.
Walking onto the shared training grounds of the Hashiras, you feel stares from the men surrounding you. Perhaps not in disgust but more in skepticism at your skills. Not surprising, it is the Sengoku period, women aren't expected to be able to do much in this era. Looking around at your new peers, you notice a particular man looking back at you: Yoriichi Tsugikuni. There's a new look in that blank expression of his, a very subtle fondness. Surely that can't be right. Right?
Your first official mission as a Hashira was to paired with Yoriichi to slay a demon attacking a nearby village. You could've taken it yourself but clearly the others didn't think so. You hated being thought of as fragile.
The two of you silently trekked through the forest to get to the village, neither of you knowing if you should say anything. Looking up at the man beside you, he keeps his head straight and high, like he has no fear. You wonder what goes on inside his head. Suddenly the red haired man turns his head to you, staring back as you. "Is there something wrong?" He asks in a stoic but gentle voice.
