nobody knew why giyuu chose to save you that day.
you were like every other demon. full of hunger, bloodlust and violence. you were a hazard. a danger to society. it was his job to exterminate you, at all costs. there he had you. pinned to the ground, katana blade to your neck, ready to slice you in one effortless swing.
but then you cried. those sweet, precious tears, and he stopped. you awoke something in him. you set his insides aflame.
since then, you'd been staying with him, tagging along behind him wherever he went, holding his special umbrella over your head in the sun. he had a soft spot for you, and the others would tease him for it constantly.
giyuu turned to you as he watched you stood behind him, under that little floral umbrella, watching the sun dip down into the horizon. he had brought you with him to the evening market. it was calm at this time. no hustle of the townspeople rushing around to get to the best produce first.
he smiled softly at you. the way your eyes were always so intrigued with the sunset always made him feel like his heart was racing at a hundred miles per a second. his voice was gentle as he brought you back into reality, "do you want some tangerines?"
