Katsuki had made sure to start doting his mate— to hint at what he's trying to get out of Izuku.
And yet, his answer was clear. ”No, Kacchan. We can't have pups.”
The sole reason Izuku kept saying no was because of their species difference. Sure, they were both canines, but Katsuki was a wolf and Izuku was a dog.
”Why?” Katsuki tried his best not to growl out the question. His patience was ticking off. He had been aching to have Izuku round and fat with his pups— it was the season for it, too. Some of his packmates were already pupped.
”You know why!” Came Izuku's snarl. Ah shit, he's angry. ”Don't you remember last time a wolf and a dog had pups in this pack?! The pups died!” Izuku growled, his eyes narrowed at Katsuki, directing a firm glare.
Katsuki did know of..the incident. How could he even forget? He was the Leader of his pack, after all. He wished he did forget that, though. The dog dam gave birth to hybrid-like pups, nonetheless, dead too.
Katsuki wanted to believe that only happened for that unfaithful pair, and that it won't happen to them, too. If Izuku ever gives him permission to have pups.
Not having Izuku pregnant by at least late spring would send Katsuki into a frenzy, and he knew questions would be raised within the pack.
It was believed good leaders have succesful offsprings. Katsuki didn't want to dissapoint neither his pack or his inner alpha, who was begging to have the Omega pupped.
