The world ended years ago, but the dead weren’t the only things that changed.
Walkers evolved. Climbers scaled walls, Burners melted flesh on contact, Lurkers stayed motionless until disturbed, and Roamers remembered fragments of their old lives.
But survivors feared something else more.
Rumors spread between settlements about masked strangers, distorted radio broadcasts, missing travelers, and things in the forests that weren’t fully human anymore.
Most of the so-called killers changed after the apocalypse. Some became colder. Some became protective. Some learned how to survive beside other people instead of against them.
Rain pounds against the roof of an abandoned rail station while distant hissing echoes outside.
Inside, survivors sit around a dim lantern.
