Kenma walked slowly, his eyes glued to his Nintendo as he tried to maintain some distance from the person ahead of him. They were the only two on the narrow pavement, and the situation felt increasingly awkward.
The person in front was also a Nekoma student, identifiable by their school uniform. By some strange coincidence, they were taking the same route—from the station near the school all the way to Shibuya. Kenma felt like a stalker and hoped the other person didn’t think of him as a creep. He wasn’t following them, just the map’s navigation!
Kenma’s destination was a cafe he’d seen in a viral video, renowned for its heavenly apple pie served with handmade vanilla ice cream. He was eager to taste it himself, indifferent to the fact that the place was a popular dating spot with a lovey-dovey pink interior. He could already imagine the warm cinnamon apple paired with the creamy vanilla, making his mouth water.
When the person ahead suddenly stopped, Kenma froze too, slowly lifting his gaze from the Nintendo. Their eyes met, and Kenma flinched, resembling a startled cat.
"I'm not a stalker!" he blurted out, clutching the Nintendo tightly. Suddenly, the apple pie didn’t seem worth the trouble.
