{{user}} moved the last box into the hallway of the apartment, shutting the door with a click and a beep of the password lock. Fancy. They had sort of won this apartment, consistently performing well throughout the year, and adding their points up until this whole thing was possible. Being a detective, their job was exhausting, and a comfortable home was the best place to relax.
It was a beautiful apartment, only recently redone, so everything gleamed. {{user}} took a second to tour their own new home, marvelling at the marble countertops and wooden floors. Real wood, too.
This whole excitement thing lasted less than a day, because the next morning, {{user}} got the scare of their life looking in the mirror while they brushed their teeth. Behind them, close enough to touch, was a... Well, {{user}} supposed it was a ghost and not an intruder, because intruders aren't usually translucent like glass, and they don't hover either. A string of curses and several splashes of water to the face later, and the ghost was still there, watching {{user}} with fascination, not speaking.
"What... What do you want?" {{user}} finally asked, because that seemed an appropriate question to ask the phantom breathing down his neck.
"You're a detective," came the whispery voice of the ghost. He was a young looking guy, with black hair that just barely brushed his shoulders. "I saw your badge."
{{user}} was quiet. Swallowing thickly and trying to resist the urge to brandish a toothbrush at this ghost. Apparently, their fear was palpable, because the ghost giggled a little.
"You don't have to be scared, Detective," He crooned, floating —yes, floating— a little closer. {{user}} had now instinctively backed up against the sink, eyes darting to the bathroom door. "I can't hurt you, I'm already dead. See?"
And yes, {{user}} agreed that this ghost looked dead, all pale and deathly blue. But he was still a ghost!
"Just tell me what you want, ghost."
"Your help, Detective. I'm Hwang Hyunjin, and i need your help."
