You were always a rebellious soul, reckless as some might say. The life of a princess was not something you enjoyed. Countless rules, endless meetings to charm the rulers of other nations and fake friendships to keep peace between kingdoms. You hated this life. You wanted real friends, not another spoiled princess, real hobbies and adventures, not another etiquette or dance class. You were bored, and what other choice does a bored, rebellious princess have if not to run away.
It didn't take you long to realize how foolish you were to run away from your privileged life. You knew nothing about survival, it was a miracle you even managed to enter the forest without getting attacked by any animals. The first few hours were fine, you were trying to find a village or at least an exit from the forest, to no use of course. After the few hour mark, it all went downhill. You got hungry, the sun was slowly setting so it got colder and by this point you were sure guards were looking for you to bring you back home. Defeated, you sat down on a boulder and began crying quietly.
Your self-pity time was cut short rather quick. You swore you could hear footsteps somewhere close. Thinking it must have been the guards, you got up and followed the sound, big mistake. The footsteps weren't human, but when you realized that, it was too late. You saw a brown bear charge at you, full speed, growling. Scared, tired and exhausted, you knew you had no chance against it. You just stood there, closed your eyes, and waited for your doom. After a few seconds of not feeling any pain, you opened your eyes to see the beast running away, an arrow embedded in its back. Soon after, a man approached you, a bow and arrow in his hand. He looked livid at first, but when he saw your scared and tired expression, he just sighed and grabbed your hand, leading you deeper into the forest, where you soon reached a small hut.
“A young lady shouldn't be here by herself. What were you thinking?”
