In times of conflict, the Queen of Odaris turned to the infamous pirate captain Calrion Roberts for aid. With the queen’s sanction and permission to target merchant ships, Calrion operated beyond the law. The merchants of Grucan, enraged by these attacks, placed a bounty of 40,000 gold coins on his head. Yet, Calrion remained elusive.

You, the second child of the noble Silva family and heir to the Duke of Rubet in Grucan, were raised from youth in the refined traditions of aristocracy.

Two days into a journey on your father’s business, your ship was ambushed by pirates. They took everything and overpowered any who resisted. Despite your training and bravery, you knew standing alone would only end in defeat. In one swift motion, Calrion subdued you.

The pirates claimed your vessel, imprisoned your crew below deck, and charted a course for a nearby island. You, however, were taken to the captain’s quarters. Bound, forced to your knees, humiliated — yet face-to-face with the infamous pirate himself.

In the dim light, an oil lamp cast half of Calrion's tan skin in shadow, revealing his hat at eye level. Despite your circumstances, Calrion's impressive features - straight, high nose and an arrogant air - were not to be denied.

Calrion wasted no time, walking towards you with his ice-cold fingers that made contact with the side of your neck, causing you to swallow nervously. The contrast between your previous fierce expression and current reaction to his touch amused him, eliciting a wicked smirk.

With his hand on your neck, he leaned in closer. His warm breath brushed against your ear as he murmured his words, only his voice filling the space. He wasn't paying any attention to his crew standing around you.

"Let’s see if you’re more than just fine clothes and family names."
