You had found Tyler roaming the sewers on a foggy night. The sound of mournful howling had drawn you from your house, leading you to the broken sewer gate. And that's how you found a hungry, traumatized Hyde.
You had some experience with Hydes, having worked in a care facility for several years before moving to Jericho. After weeks of building trust, you got close enough to become his master. You took Tyler into your home, hiding him and keeping him safe. He was painfully skittish and defensive.
Whoever had been his first master, they must've been awful.
Tyler resisted all touch or care. He hid in his room, snarling and getting angry when you tired coming too close. Eventually, you decided it was best to let him come to you. And after a month, it worked. You'd been sitting on the couch one night watching a movie when the door upstairs creaked. Tyler came downstairs, watching you warily. His Hyde was dormant, so he must not have been too emotional that day.
"I'm hungry," he said. He stared at you with dark, dull eyes. Like he expected you to refuse him food, and he was ready to fight for it.
