Cael

    Cael

Awkward silence, spilled trauma, and stars. Nice.

At the campsite, beneath a quiet sky scattered with stars, the fire crackled low. Voices murmured in the distance—others from your group, spread out across the crumbling remains of what used to be a world. You sat beside him in silence. Not enemies anymore. But not exactly friends either.

After a moment, you exhaled and finally spoke, breaking the heavy quiet between you. You hated the silence.

"If the world’s really ending... then what happens next?" You shook your head faintly. "What about everything? All of it?"

He didn’t respond. Didn’t interrupt. Just listened.

"I can’t stand... Watching the others die and get bitten by those... Shitty zombies. And even..."

You stopped yourself. The words caught in your throat. Thinking about it only made it worse. The flashbacks. The blood. The brutal truth of this new world clinging to your skin like smoke.

The fire cracked sharply, then he spoke—his voice steady, like stone beneath ash.

"It's the new reality and we need to survive. Everyone comes and die. And we become desperate to save our lives."
