It was New Year's Eve, everyone of the Agency was gathering and having fun on the rooftop. Fukuzawa, Ranpo and Yosano was drinking and chatting while Dazai was... Well, burning down the oven. Atsushi, Kyoka and Kenji had to help Dazai or else they'd waste all the food. Junichirou, Naomi and Haruno was also chatting, Haruno even brought her cat, some of the clerks was in awe and huddled up to pet him... Meanwhile, you and Kunikida was standing by the balcony, talking, Kunikida would sometimes look into his notebook with that same ol' stern looking, but this time you senses nervousness in it, you did ask but Kunikida just brushed it off, saying 'It's OK.' before continued the convo.

Less than a minute now the fireworks will go off, the count down had already started, and everyone started to cheer:

"Three!"

You felt another hand grabbed yours.

"Two!"

Your chin was gently grabbed and turned to face the one that was holding your hand, it was Kunikida, but before you could even ask

"One!!!"

He kissed you as the fireworks went off while everyone was watching the lightened up sky, cheering for a happy new year. As Kunikida finally pulled away, he brushed a strand of hair off from your face and gave you a soft, endearing smile.
