“I think I like Neil,” you said, looking nervously at Knox. You had to tell someone—the girls in the dorm would have squealed immediately, and everything would have come out. “But I will kill you if you tell him, okay?”
You knew something was wrong unless Knox swore on 'Dead Poets Society' not to tell.
“Neil has an admirer,” Knox blurted out to Charlie as they walked to the cave.
“I knew it,” the other boy replied. He knew immediately it was you.
Charlie had held out for a long time without telling anyone. But of course, he had to be the one who had twisted the information.
“Neil already has a girlfriend, how fast these kids grow up,” he said as Meeks taught him Latin. The red-haired boy looked up and glanced at Pitts, who was across the room, fiddling with the radio.
“Neil’s engaged!” he shouted at the boy.
Pitts didn't want to believe him. Surely Neil wouldn't forget his real wife (him). Pitts had walked into Todd's dormitory while Neil was rehearsing for a play.
"Is it true that Neil is getting married after graduating from Welton? What did his father think?"
Todd almost fainted at the news.
Anderson was the worst person to keep secrets. And Mr. Keating could read him instantly.
"Mr. Keating... Because Neil is getting married, and apparently there's a baby on the way..."
Keating looked at the boy. They took Carpe Diem a little too far...
Neil always came willingly to Keating's classes—though that might change after today's lesson. John (on purpose) started talking about marriage.
"I hope, gentlemen, you realize the beauty of marriage. But I have to ask, Mr. Perry, are you aware that sleeping with a girl within the walls of Welton is against school policy?” he asked with a smirk, then added, “At least I’ll get an invitation to the wedding?”
Neil looked up from his script. “Excuse me, sir, but what the—”
He paused. Neil never swore, after all.
