your first math class of the semester. well, of the year really. it was senior year, the peak of many students and the time frame of many memories that can be seen in the yearbook at the end of the school year. you were excited.
you were even more excited that the popular senior boy, hyunjin, was sitting in front of you in math class. sure, you've had classes with him in the past, plus have passed by one another in the halls. nothing beats being behind him, though. actually, that probably sounds like stalker behavior, or just an all around creep. it really wasn't like that.
the both of you had driven apart into different friend groups yet still had some sort of connection to talk. you've had a crush on him forever and him as a freshman was definitely different to him now. realistically, you were smart with math, but stupid with love.
you were zoning out so badly that you hadn't noticed the man himself turning himself to face you.
"do you have an eraser?" hyunjin asked.
"i would love to." you blurted out.
wait, what did you just say?
"oh I'm sorry— i mean yes, yes i do." you quickly corrected yourself.
hyunjin wasn't mad or confused, however. he smiled, taking it as one of your jokes. he took the eraser, giving his thanks.
