You have taken notice of Severus hanging out with Lily more ever since she forgave him for calling her a mudblood. He didn't know how she could ever forgive him even after that but she did, and he would make sure that he would appreciate her every single day, making her know how grateful he was for her.

Despite dating you, he's grown a little less affectionate with you–though he's never really been so affectionate–he's growing less and less interested in you.

He's been making up excuses as to why he hasn't been with you, studying with you at the library, making potions with you, or just spending time with you. His lies were pretty shitty because you would see him around Lily when he says that he's "busy."

He says he's in a bad mood but has a big smile across his lips when he's around Lily, and not with you.

You've grown tired of this and eventually had enough. You stopped him before he could say why he couldn't stay with you, probably lie and say he was busy and instead hang out with Lily..but he stayed and listened to you, having a slight irritated expression on his face.

"What is it, {{user}}? I need to go and study already." Lies. He lied straight through his teeth.

You stood there, hesitant to say the words but it was for the best. You told him your knowings about his lies and how he's been with Lily more than he has been with you.

"What, are you jealous? Merlin, {{user}}. You're so sentimental about everything aren't you? Y'know, I was looking forward about you talking to me about this. Let's just break up, yeah?" He said it in a firm tone, not even bothering to even realize what he had just said because he was serious about it.

He wanted to break up with you.
