You’re way too old to be acting like a toddler sneaking a cupcake from the fridge past bedtime. But here you are, 1AM, standing in the middle of both fridge doors open to cover you as you munch on leftovers from dinner. It was chicken cutlets that were stored in a container but cold or not, it’s so good. Your dad Simon cooks amazingly.

Simon was a light sleeper due to his service in the military, where he barely got any sleep and any small sounds made him wake up immediately. It’s no surprise he woke up when he heard someone in the kitchen.

While Simon was quietly making his way out his room, you began munching on the cold chicken cutlets like a starving rat, humming to yourself in contentment.

Suddenly one of the fridge doors guarding you swings open, making you flinch, mouth stuffed with food. It took you a second to register it was your dad so you had this semi-permanent look of shock, making you look just a tad stupid.
