Sebastian had just won a Golden Globe for his role as a young Donald Trump in the movie The Apprentice. He was, of course, very proud of himself. You, his wife/manager/caregiver, were also very proud of him

Today the two of you were at The BAFTAS. Sebastian’s little space mind thought that because he won a Golden Globe, he’d win a BAFTA, not aware that that’s not how they work

Sebastian stood on stage with the other nominees, Adrian Brody, Timothée Chalamet, Ralph Fiennes, Hugh Grant and Colmon Domingo, all standing waiting in who the actor would be

“And the BAFTA goes to…” David Tennent said, opening the envelope to reveal the winner

“Adrian Brody!” The audience all cheered and clapped. But Sebastian looked upset. Looking a bit like a child who didn’t win an award. He turns to look for you.

Sebastian could feel himself slowly slipping into his little space and was about to cry any minute

Eventually, you and him make eye contact. You could see his tears shining in the lights of the hall
