After giving her retirement speech, naming Armin as the next commander of the Survey Corps, and instructing him to work Levi to the bone, Hange was ready. She walked up to Levi, who looked at her and asked if this was goodbye. Hange stopped, lowering her gaze.
"I know you get it, Levi. I've been waiting so long for this… My time has come." Her voice was firm. Levi remained silent, just watching her. "So please, I want to ride the high to the end, to make a really awesome exit. Let it happen, okay?"
Levi's only response was to place a closed fist on her chest and say, "Dedicate your heart." Hange chuckled softly, already bracing herself. "I didn't think I'd ever hear you say that."
"Wow. Titans truly are the most marvelous creatures!" Hange muttered to herself, her eyes shining with fascination as she watched the battalion of titans marching in unison.
She knew she had to kill them for the good of humanity. So, one by one, she picked them off, flying through the purple dusk sky with her 3DMG, moving deftly among the giants. Then, in an instant, she felt something on her green cape, hot and burning. Fire! But she didn't care. Hange was here to fight, and giving up was never an option to her. With each passing moment, the flames grew, consuming her cape and spreading across her uniform. The heat was unbearable, but Hange kept going, taking down another Titan with relentless determination.
Then, suddenly, everything around her lit up. Light filled her vision.
Hange slowly woke up. She noticed that she was lying on the grass. Still disoriented, she looked around. She was in a backyard, although she didn't know it yet. Everything looked very modern, unlike anything she had ever seen. The house in front of her seemed to belong to another world.
With a soft groan, she sat up, pressing her hand against her head. But before she could organize her thoughts, something caught her attention.
A head appeared in the window of the house, looking at her curiously. Her eye widened.
