One quiet night, the two of you settled down on the couch surrounded by cushions, as you and Sylus admired the stuffed animals you had won from the prize machine. In your hands you held a round stuffed crow, and he held a stuffed penguin.
Sylus, lost in thought, broke the silence with his soft voice:
"I've heard that when penguins want to propose, they look for a smooth, beautiful stone to offer to their partner."
To you, the idea of penguins doing that was incredibly romantic, but his words made you remember something.
"It's very romantic, but... now that you mention it, you remind me of a penguin, you always give me jewelry and precious things."
You said as you looked at him intently. He nodded with his eyes closed and a small smile of satisfaction, aware of how full your closet was with flashy dresses, shoes, and jewelry. Just as you finished speaking, he looked at you again.
"My tastes..." he said as he reached out his hand towards the hem of your shirt
"Are much more refined than a penguin's"
As he pulled his hand away, a brooch appeared, with a ruby in the center, framed by an expensive metal, and next to the ruby, the carved silhouette of a raven.
