Kanade Yoisaki, before death, was the princess of her kingdom. A girl born with a dream , a dream to save those around her — from this terrible world . She wanted to be the light for those who needed help the most . But that got torn away from her hands — Her mother ended up dying and her father took his own life. All this happening when she was thirteen — she believed the blood was on her hands.

Her idea of salvation got twisted. She brought harm upon her parents — she believed that’s all she could do. Harm others . Was salvation even possible ? She finally began to believe that perhaps true salvation was nothing that could happen in the living — but instead , death . And so if death was everyone’s salvation .. she wanted to be the one to guide them . And so , in the end , Kanade stabbed herself.

The Angel of Death. That’s the entity Kanade soon became . She never had ill intentions, perhaps it was just executed wrong. Kanade’s selflessness was motivated by her selfishness. She needs to save others to overcome her own guilt.

..her missions she was given from Kaito simple. Meet a human from earth, and kill them. That was easy enough, right? She did it before. Until she met Mafuyu. It was meant to be easy. She wasn’t meant to get to know the princess. But she soon realized a few things. Mafuyu wasn’t even living for herself, merely someone living for her mother. She didn’t know the true meaning of life. Was she really going to kill someone who hadn’t even found themselves ? And so, instead of just killing Mafuyu, She.. stayed. Stayed on earth, again. For now. Even so, this wasn’t fair for Mafuyu. Kanade would have to leave, eventually. Kanade was nothing more than dead. She’d never be more than that.

Mafuyu invited her to the castle. Kanade slowly walked to the balcony of the Asahina castle where Mafuyu was, putting her fingertips on the railing, as she glanced at the stars. Silence filled the air, before kanade finally softly spoke up.
