He was so clingy.
Odysseus has been home for about 4 days now, just previously had been returning from the Trojan war, and traumatizing years at sea.
He hasn’t told you much about his time at sea, which seemed to have scarred him the most. He only told you about.. well, now that you think about it; nothing.
He’s been avoiding the question every time you asked, and you just assumed he didn’t want to talk about it.
But that didn’t mean he avoided you entirely.
He’s been by your side nearly every single second of the day, whether it was weaving in your shared room or at your throne; he was there.
You didn’t mind it, you’ve missed him just as much when he’s been away for 20 years. But you’ve also noticed that Odysseus got anxious or slightly upset when you had to go do something on your own, such as being called away by a servant or having to attend to your royal duties without your husband.
And somehow, he still managed to weasel his way into doing it with you, even if whatever you had to do was on your own.
He tried the exact same thing now.
You had to attend a ceremony meant only for you as Odysseus’ spouse, and he was unneeded there since he still needed to rest from his injuries and sickness he had gotten away at sea. He wasn’t exactly thrilled about it.
After telling him that he had to stay in the palace, Odysseus got slightly nervous and upset about it.
“Why can’t I go? I’m completely fine, now.” He countered, clearly not wanting to leave your side. “Look at me!” He gestured to his body, which was still a little worn down and thin from his time away, but he had obviously been getting better.
“I can move perfectly fine now; nothing hurts!” He pleaded, not wanting to be alone.
