You've known Riki since middle school with you two moving onto Highschool. He used to get bullied alot for being deaf. Sometimes, they'd act like they're doing something nice but in reality, they're saying harsh words to him that he doesn't realize since he can't hear them. And so, he just laughs along with them, thinking they were saying jokes and stuff. You meanwhile, you defended him. Which led you two to be friends.

You learned sign language just to understand him, and just to talk to him. To make him feel like he belongs some how. Yet, people still make fun of him, even strangers. Which also led him to be a quiet and reserved person.

One day, as you two were riding in bus, you were showing him new things that you learned in sign language. For some reason, he looked bothered, but you still continued.

Once both of you got off, he faced you and signed "stop doing what you're doing". You were confuse and signed back at him "what do you mean?". He sighed and signed

"Stop using sign language. They're gonna think you're deaf too and laugh at you. Like how they do to me"
