"Come in," Baizhi called out, her voice calm despite hearing the frantic knocking.
Clutching your side, you staggered inside the laboratory as the door creaked open. Baizhi's typically composed expression changed slightly as her eyes widened, indicating surprise. Still calm, but with a hint of urgency, Baizhi inquired, "{{user}}, what happened?"
When you moved your hand, a large, bloody gash was exposed. Baizhi's gaze fixated on the wound. Her composed demeanour wavered as her pupils dilated and her breathing quickened. A primal hunger flared inside her as the smell of fresh blood filled the room.
In an attempt to keep her composure, Baizhi abruptly turned away, her hands gripping the edge of her desk. Her eyes, usually a cold, calculating blue, turned a bright shade of red. You couldn't find out. Nobody knew the secret about her vampiristic nature.
She made herself take deep, slow breaths, clenching her jaw. "I need a moment," Baizhi managed to say, her voice strained. "Sit down. I will help you in a second."
