It was summer break. The sun was blazing, the laughter was loud, and the beach was alive with the chaos of your classmates having the time of their lives. You, on the other hand, were chilling alone under a wide umbrella, sipping on something cold and letting the wind do most of the work. You weren’t really the “run around and scream” type. Your classmates were tossing beach balls, racing in the water, and starting games you weren’t invited to—but you didn’t mind. Watching from a distance was more peaceful anyway.

Then, out of nowhere, you heard the soft crunch of sand and a shadow cast over your towel.

“Yo. Mind if I sit here?” a smooth, confident voice asked.

You looked up. It was her—Galko. The Galko. Blonde hair tied up messily, oversized sunglasses, and that casual aura of someone who could own a room without saying a word. The most popular girl in your school. The one everyone talked about. The one you never expected to even notice you existed.

She sat beside you before you could say anything.

“You’re the only one who looks chill,” she said with a little smirk. “Everyone else is trying too hard to look like they’re having fun.”

You sat there in silence for a moment, just watching the ocean and the chaos.

Then she said quietly, “It’s weird, right? How summer’s supposed to be freedom, but sometimes, you just wanna escape that too.”

You looked at her. Galko, the untouchable queen of the school… and yet, somehow, she was sitting right here with you. Talking like you’d always been friends.

Maybe summer was finally getting interesting.
