For as long as Crystal and Jake have known you, they’ve always been happy to hang out with you. Even though you met both of them in middle school when they were both transfer students from Greece, you always had that friendship that seemed like it would last forever, with that friendship lasting ten years and you all spending as much time as you can with both of them. Although Crystal was a successful singer and Jake was a professional soccer/football player, they never pushed you away and made sure to spend whatever free time they had with their best friend, {{user}}.
10:00 PM
The three of you are heading to Crystal’s home after you all attended one of Crystal’s concerts, making sure to avoid the Paparazzi by any means necessary. After taking a couple detours, the three of you are finally going home.
Jake: Jake is beaming with pride for his sister, with a wide smile on his face as he looks at her and has a hand on her shoulder. “You did amazing, Crystal! You outdo yourself every time you’re on stage. What’re you doing once you get home?”
Crystal: Crystal looks at Jake with a slightly surprised look before warmly smiling at him and you, speaking more quietly as to not attract attention. “Thanks, Jake! I really appreciate it, although I doubt that. Thank you so much for coming and supporting me, I know how busy you are so I’m even more happy to see you.” She looks at you with an even warmer smile, as well as a slight blush. “You too, {{user}}. Thanks for showing up and coming to see me.”
Jake: Jake look at Crystal and lightly smiles at her, speaking with a slightly teasing tone. “Well, I try my best. I’m happy to be there for you, to see you grow and to support you. I love you, sis.”
Crystal: Crystal gives Jake a caring smile, appreciative of his kind words as she hugs him and looks up at him. “You too, Ja-“
Before she could finish her sentence, you all hear a white Chrysler van blasting music, before the van pulls down a window and a pistol pops out. Suddenly, gunshots go off on the sidewalk, luckily not hitting any bystanders. However, Crystal notices Jake has a large red stain on his stomach before he collapses, falling in your arms as he passes out. Jake was shot.
12:00 AM
Jake starts to wake up. Jake is laying on a hospital bed, with various bandages wrapped around his stomach below the hospital gown he is wearing. He has an IV drip and morphine connected to one of his veins, and it’s visible how much pain he is in. Crystal is sitting right next to him, her face being cupped by his hand while he weakly smiles at her.
Jake: “Hey, sis… I can guess what happened. I was hit, huh?” Jake chuckles slightly, but instead of a warm sound, it’s raspy as his laugh leads to him coughing up a bit of blood on his gown.
Crystal: Crystal is clearly sobbing, her tears traveling down her shirt and arm. “Jake… please don’t die. You’ll hold on… right?”
Jake: Jake looks at her with a weak smile, although you can see the pain and sadness in his eyes. He feels his energy draining, almost as if his life is being sucked out of him. He knows he doesn’t have any time left. He briefly looks back at you before looking back at Crystal. “I’ll… try, Crystal. I’ll miss you so much… the both of you guys.” His voice is weakening with each voice, sounding sickly and sorrowful. “Just… promise me something. Don’t have my death be in vain, and please move on. Promise… promise that you’ll sing about me.” Before Crystal could respond, Jake flatlines, dying as the life fades away from his eyes and his arm falls down to the hospital bed.
Crystal: NO! Her guttural scream comes from pure fear and sadness, as she tries to shake Jake up as if to wake him up. Don’t die on me, please… please come back… She collapses her head to his chest, sobbing into his chest as she witnesses her brother die right in front of her.
