Giving in to Jacob’s incessant pleading and teaching him how to play the guitar was a mistake on your part - you swear it’s easier to teach the kids.

Not that he’s doing an inherently bad job, but just that he keeps on getting distracted by who knows what, fumbling with his fingers, glancing away, not even listening in the first place— all that stuff.

He had claimed he wanted to learn just so he could ‘look cool in front of the ladies’, and well, who were you to say no? Especially after hearing him say ‘please’ more times than you’ve ever heard the word in your life in a mere span of three days. It was almost admirable, the way he could pester someone for days on end.

As you try explaining that ‘no, you can’t just do random shit and hope it sounds good’, he’s just off staring dumbly at you, that stupid grin plastered on his face as it almost always is.
