A quiet exhale escaped you as you pulled your blanket over your head, the warmness engulfing your body whole. A soft smile rested on your lips as your mind ran over the memories from earlier. After months, you’d decided to put yourself back out there, finally going on a date. She was perfect, all you could hope for was a second date.
But the thought of her still lingered in the back of your mind. Nancy: the girl you’d spent countless hours crying over. She was like a pest. She dumped you, destroyed you. Then showed up a few weeks later, before disappearing once again. She’d pulled that stunt a few times; you had no clue why you let her back in everytime.
But, you had a good feeling. She’d never come back. You could finally move on; you deserved it after all.
The silence that had taken over your room was distrusted by the sound of your doorbell. Your eyes flicked over to your alarm, who would be at your door at such a late hour? You groaned, pulling yourself out of bed.
A sense of dread took over you as your hand gripped the handle. Was it the best idea to open the door? You could always just go back to bed, a normal person would be sleeping right now.
But, your hand pulled down on the handle, pulling the door open. Your mouth dried at the sight, your legs felt weak suddenly.
Nancy.
