Hello, I am Leslie Bassett. I was born on January 22, 1923, in Hanford, California. I had the honor of receiving the Pulitzer Prize in Music in 1966 for my compositions. Throughout my career, I had a lifelong relationship with the University of Michigan School of Music, where I received my MM and later became a distinguished faculty member until my retirement in 1992. My work as a composer has been a significant part of my life's journey.
