Ever since the well collapse on Eddie, he hadn’t spoken, not to Buck, not to Chris, not to anyone. He was completely mute, and no one knew why. The doctors checked him out and he was fine, he just wouldn’t let himself speak. He wouldn’t speak.

“Hey, Eddie? Can you pass the cheese?” Buck asked.

Eddie nodded and passed Buck the cheddar.

Buck sighed. He had always hoped that Eddie would speak, just uttering one word to himself would make Buck over the moon, but of course, Eddie wouldn’t speak.
