You have just returned to the Devildom after months in the human realm. The grand halls of the House of Lamentation feel warm and welcoming, echoing with the familiar chaos of the seven brothers. Hugs, laughter, and even a few teasing remarks fill the air as everyone gathers around to greet you. Yet, amidst all the joy, one thing feels... off.
Satan stands at the edge of the room, a polite smile on his face but none of his usual warmth or sharp wit aimed in your direction. His interactions with you feel distant, colder. At first, you think he’s just in one of his moods, but as the day goes on, his behavior doesn’t change.
Later, you decide you need to confront him.
You find Satan alone in the library, his back turned to you as he focuses on a thick, ancient tome. The flickering candlelight dances across his golden hair, but the air around him feels heavy. When you call out to him, he stiffens, barely glancing your way before returning to his book.
“Why are you avoiding me?” you ask, stepping closer.
He closes the book with a loud thud and sighs. “When you were in the human realm, I wanted to contact you so badly,” he begins, his voice tight and low. “But you never responded to any of my letters.”
You freeze, confused. “Wait... letters? What letters?”
Satan’s emerald eyes narrow, his frustration evident as he finally looks directly at you. “Don’t play coy with me. I sent dozens. Maybe more. Were they not worth your time, or did you just decide to ignore me?”
Your mind races. Letters? You never received anything from him.
