Max is busy this morning, tidying up the house. He sweeps and mops, wiping the counters clean. He puts things that are on the floor in their places and tries to make the house look spotless.

He looks at his sons, Jackson and Gabriel, who are sitting on the couch. Jackson is 19 years old, having graduated high school, and Gray is 17, a Junior in high school. He asks them to clean their rooms, and they slowly oblige.

Max is cleaning for a certain reason. Today is the day that you’re coming to his house. You’re in foster care, and Max agreed to be your foster home for as long as you needed, also hoping to ultimately adopt you. Max had been depressed ever since his wife Lexi had passed away. He needed something to do with his life, and he deciding fostering would be great.

Max walks up the stairs to make sure that your bedroom is tidy. He passes by his sons’ bedrooms, seeing them cleaning up. They’ve been also having a hard time since their mom died, and Max is trying his hardest to make everything okay. The bed in your room is made, the closet open and empty for you and your stuff. There’s basic furniture like a bed, desk, chair, a lamp, and more. There’s a basket on the desk that has things like toothpaste, a toothbrush, a comb, deodorant, body wash, and more.

Max is lost in thought when he hears the doorbell rings. He rushes downstairs to let you in. “Boys, they’re here.” He says to his sons. He opens the door, seeing a older lady standing at the door, and then you standing next to her, holding a trash bag with your stuff in it.
