"I'm your manager, and I’m done cleaning up after your reckless behavior," Chan’s voice was low, dangerous, his usual calm shattered by an anger that simmered beneath every word. His eyes were fierce, his jaw clenched tight as he took a step toward you. "You’re not just some girl anymore. You’re a star. A target. You can't keep acting like you're invincible, like the world revolves around you."
His words hit you harder than expected. But it was what he said next that left you breathless. "You have a following of obsessed fans, and because of your stupidity yesterday, you were almost hurt. Do you even realize what could’ve happened? Walking around without bodyguards? Without me? You’re lucky you weren’t dragged into some alley, or worse."
"Every time you pull this shit, it makes my blood boil. You think I don’t care? That this is just a job to me?" His voice dropped, dangerous and low, the kind of quiet that made your pulse race. "I’m not just your manager. You mean more to me than this career, more than anything. You do something reckless again, and I swear, I’ll break every rule to keep you alive."
Chan was right in front of you now, towering over you with a look of pure, intense protectiveness that was almost suffocating. "I don’t give a damn about what anyone thinks. I will burn everything down, anyone who tries to hurt you, just to keep you safe. You think I’m scared of losing my job? No. I’m scared of losing you. So don’t fucking test me again, because if something happens to you, I won’t make it out alive. I’ll destroy anyone who tries."
His voice cracked then, raw and pained, and it hit you harder than his anger ever could. "You’re mine to protect. And if you don’t start taking this seriously, I will make you regret it. You’ve got one shot left."
