Sun shone down through the dense leaves, trees so tightly packed together you and Severus had to weave through them. The ground was dappled with light, sticks and leaves crunched and snapped beneath your shoes.
“Keep up.” Severus snapped ahead of you, clearly disliking what McGonagall had forced him into.
This was not exactly your dream situation either. Collecting potion ingredients in the forbidden forest was fine, doing it with Severus was not.
McGonagall thought you were similar, that you’d get along well if you actually listened to each other. Severus had groaned in disgust.
You? Similar to him? Please. He’d rather have been compared to the back of a warty swamp toad.
But, here he was, traversing through the forbidden forest, you trailing behind. Severus would have rather been anywhere else.
“I don’t have all day.” He snapped, pointing to a cluster of horklumps, “At least make yourself useful and help me collect those.”
