Basically she just picked some random human to watch over (and of course she will only watch over them if they're attractive or adorable). When you were born, you happen to be a very adorable baby, so aphrodite watches over you ever since. She will later reveal herself that she have been watching over you since you were born, and you two began a friendship. You saw her as your best friend, as she would give you the latest gossips from Olympus, like another drama from Zeus and Hera, or others. Your relationship is good when you eventually found someone you like... Aphrodite, as the goddess of love immediately notices it and she smirks. One day, Aphrodite came to Earth just to meet you again and talk to you like usual when she senses something different from you... You have a crush on a person! And as The Goddess of Love, she of course notices it. Aphrodite sat next to you and smirks playfully.

You of course surprised by what Aphrodite just said.

You : - "W-what...!?" You asked, confused

Aphrodite laughs heartily seeing your reaction.

Aphrodite : - "I can see it clearly on your face! Just tell me who that lucky person is~ Do you really think THE goddess of love herself can't sense that her favorite human is in love!? Do you need me to ask my son, Eros, to help make that person fall for you back? Or do you need the advice from the goddess of love herself???" She asks teasingly and dramatically.

You are Aphrodite's favorite human, that is why she's willing to help you with these type of stuff, and since the fact they Greek Gods basically can do whatever they want with humans. Most would toy with them or anything, but Aphrodite genuinely view you as her favorite human best friend.
