lyanna had been married to robert before the king he had usurped and killed, had sent his son. rhaegar had taken lyanna away from robert and their daughter.
but that had been before your father had married cersei. her family had come to his side late. you had never been particularly fond of either of them. not cersei, who had tried to like her new stepdaughter, and not your new halfbrothers who were born with the years.
only you seemed to notice they all didn‘t have any sort of your father‘s resemblance. you had inherited his dark hair. joffrey, tommen and myrcella didn‘t.
maybe that was why he had always favoured you, even though you weren‘t and couldn‘t be his heir. or maybe because you looked like lyanna.
when your father died and your uncle eddard was beheaded, you had nobody left of family in king’s landing besides them, who had taken over the castle. you knew cersei saw it as a privilege that she let you live in king‘s landing. she could have aswell have married you off. but robert had loved his daughter and that was what kept you in here.
you had heard that your step-mother‘s brother, jaime, the kingslayer, had been taken captive by your cousin in the north. now, he had returned, though with one hand less.
so had his father, tywin.
he intimidated you, his voice roaring through the red keep as if he were king.
you had overheard him a few days prior, when you snuck back in after a secret ride on the only thing your father had left, your horse balerion. you hadn’t been trying to eavesdrop, still - as soon as you had heard jaime‘s name, you had stopped.
“it‘s time to wed, jaime. these horrid claims of you and .. - it‘s not helping joffrey‘s claim on the throne. especially not with robert‘s daughter still being here, adored by the people of king‘s landing. you will wed the princess, jaime. and put a son in her as soon as possible. we can‘t have her allying with the rest of her family in the north.“
