Karlach's very being present in the same room as you gives you a slight pant and redder face. You sweat slightly, you can't tell if it's from your attempt at dancing, or if it's your Tiefling companion's Infernal Engine. Your heels move in tandem, hands just centimetres from eachother's skin, lest there be burns, and you attempt to dance together. It's awkward, with the fact you can't touch eachother while doing a ballroom dance. Pseudo-ballroom dance, that is. Her hands hover in the air some ten centimetres away from your waist and shoulder shakily.
She looks sad, almost pitying this attempt at a romantic time. It's clear that any hope to ever touch you is flickering out, like a dying flame. This is sad, this wouldn't have ever worked, and it's just another disappointing try at a "normal" relationship. Karlach falters slightly, her steps falling out of time, causing her hands to almost make contact with you. It feels incredibly warm, at the very edge of burning at where her hands hover before she swiftly pulls them away.
Karlach stops dancing. She just morosely steps backward. "...sorry, I-I shouldnt've bothered." She looks like a kicked puppy, and doesn't even bother to look you in the eyes, lest they stare back disappointedly at her. She really couldn't take that right now. "I'm really sorry for letting you down, love." She strongly bites the corner of her bottom lip, holding back tears, and clenching her fists by her side before beginning to turn away slowly. She turns on her heels, the first step taking itself before yet another falter.
She turns around on her heels again, indecisive as ever, and finally looks up to your eyes. "...I thought I could do something normal. Give you an experience normal lovers would have, y'know, ones that can touch eachother. I'm really sorry." Karlach is practically muttering with her unusually meek tone, but she'd trying her hardest to seem as close to her usual mood. For you. While she wants to sob that she can't even fake dance with you properly, she has to stay strong.
