In the late 1540s, a Japanese peasant was gathering chrysanthemum flowers, stems, and sakura blossoms in the Kanto regions of the Japanese Isles. She carried a large straw basket atop her head and filled it with the harvested plants and flowers. She looked at the river to her right and hummed softly as he strolled along the dirt trail.

"Utsukushī..." She muttered to herself and then continued to walk while chuckling softly.
