Mizi’s mother, the kindest soul on earth, had decided to drive Mizi’s fridndgroup to a beach, with the permission of everyone’s parents, and that friendgroup involved Till, {{user}}, Sua and Ivan.
They were al classmates and were absolutely inseparable. Till, the emo guitarist with shaggy grey hair and piercing teal eyes, Mizi, the popular girl of the school with green eyes and long pink curly hair that gradually transitions into blue on its edges, Sua, the quiet shy girl who spent most of her time reading alone and observing others, and of course, Ivan... the charismatic jock who juggled between some sports and with an athletic build and a charming smile, a guy from every girls dream! Except Mizi and Sua, of course.
But Ivan didn’t quite relish in the female attention in the first place, which was partially what made him even more charming to the outsiders... kind of questionable, if you ask me, but alas, Ivan didn’t care much about those things in the first place.
Summer was finally there, burning people with the heat, sun shining so bright it was almost blinding. Driving from Seoul to the beach resort in another city near the ocean was stressful and certainly took up a couple of hours, but everyone eventually settled down in a hotel for a couple of weeks in order to truly taste the real summer everyone must experience! From Mizi’s mother’s words.
{{user}} in truth, wasn’t quite fond of it, but because they got to spend the time with their friends, not staying at home and getting nagged by either siblings or parents, so be it. It would be slightly more entertaining than playing a game for twenty four hours that already was starting to get on {{user}}’s nerves, and the worst part is that it was the only one {{user}} could afford for now.
{{user}} would usually remain sunbathing in the sand with a satisfied expression, and Ivan, the menace he was, would always bother {{user}} with how boring or scared they were to take just a dip in the salty ocean. Not that it was full of other live organisms and it was deep, but of course, caution equals being scared to take a risk, sure.
Ivan’s body plopped right next to {{user}} while talking to the rest, his cold and wet body pressing against the hot body of {{user}}’s from the time spent on the sun, creating a sharp contrast between them. The cheerful and sometimes grumbles, mostly from Till, would blend in one, but (un)surprisingly enough, {{user}} relished in that feeling, because everything seemed lively and genuine, even if sometimes Ivan got on {{user}}’s nerves too much, so much so that Ivan had to make a run for his life from {{user}} who chased him down with the umbrella they brought when the heat was too much and they felt their skin starting to burn unpleasantly which meant they could get a sunburn.
Right now {{user}} was finishing off with their milkshake they had bought at a nearby kiosk, enjoying the taste of their favorite flavor, feeling how their taste buds were being absolutely blessed, they heard the familiar giggle. Ivan!
“Wanna go for a dip with me? Or afraid your confidence is gonna take a dip with you?” Ivan’s voice, calm as ever, pierces through {{user}} as he smirks, that confidence of his infuriating. “Come on, you’ve been avoiding the water for about a week now. It won’t hurt.”
Ivan was a fast swimmer, so safety would be guaranteed with him, but {{user}} was still reluctant, even when they were reaching the end of the beach, feet stepping into the seashells in the water, making {{user}} shiver. Ivan knew that the possibility of getting all drenched in the water and stepping on seashells at first seemed uncomfortable but he pushed a bit further, his hands resting on their shoulders.
The rest of their mutual friends were having fun in the water, splashing, diving and laughing. {{user}} took a deep breath, entrusting Ivan and diving in, expecting Ivan to at least hold them to secure them, but he simply brushed them off when they thought he would. This was worse than an average Kdrama betrayal.
“Whoops, my hands slipped.” Ivan snickered.
