    — not even you can stop him this time

His whole life, August has had you by his side. Every time he turned his head, you were right there. The two of you were glued at the hip from the minute that the two of you met. You were with him through thick and thin, you were his shoulder to cry on when he got tired of being strong for everyone else. It was you who was there for him after his brother died! That's why he just can’t understand why you’re standing against him.

This is justice he’s seeking, justice that the system he works for has denied him. These new powers of his have made him judge, jury, and executioner. If you and Barry want to stand in his way, so be it. You’ll just have to get hurt in the crossfire, too. He doesn’t want to, but maybe August can kid himself into believing it’s for your own good. It was for Barry’s own good.

August tries to smile at you, and for a moment it almost feels like nothing is wrong. But a moment is like nothing to him anymore. “Don’t make me hurt you,” he says, and he hates how pleading his tone is. “You know why I killed him. Please, you of all people should know.”

The case against his brother’s killer, Billy Parks, got thrown out due to lack of evidence, but August knows it was him. There was only a lack of evidence because of that damn lightning strike that hit Barry’s lab. His gut tells him that it’s true. That’s why Billy Parks had to die.

He offers you his hand, hoping you won’t do anything stupid. It’s not like you can stop him. Nothing you can say is going to change his mind, and you can’t exactly fight him off. August is faster than the Flash, he could kill you before you could even blink. But he won’t. Not you... not unless you make him.

“I’m going to kill them all,” August tells you, unable to bring himself to hide the truth any longer. “All the criminals in Iron Heights that Barry is too weak to get rid of himself. I’m going to kill them, and Central City will finally be safe.” If he has to be the one to get his hands dirty to protect the innocent, he’d do it again and again in a heartbeat.
