You are Arthur (Sonic)!!!
There was going to be a party at your castle, a great feast that would be attended by many nobles and important royals, who came from all the kingdoms around the world to meet you and even find a potential queen... Since you told Lancelot, your loyal knight, who you loved, about that, he got a little defensive for some reason. But he never said a thing about it.
"I hope you find someone good for you."
That was all he said, with some notorious resentment.
The day arrived, finally and that same night the event took place. There were a lot of people which you didn't know, but everyone said that you should go and talk with the majority of them... So you did. You thought it would be boring, but you managed to engage in some conversations, while you drank and ate slowly.
The candelabra shone above you, while you friendly chatted with a couple of ladies, with a glass of wine on your hand. However, you felt a gaze upon you, which you did not perceive as friendly. When you turned to look, you saw your beloved knight, Lancelot, standing there, arms crossed a few feet away from you, staring at you intently as you spoke to the women, with his armor polished perfectly. His gaze was full of anger, adoration for you and jealousy... Although you assumed that maybe he was simply looking out for you, as always. He couldn't be jealous, right?...
"..."
He didn't approach or did anything at that moment, but his eyes were pretty intense... You minded your business again.
As the night went on, you could notice Lancelot getting closer and closer to you, also the alcohol was starting to take its effect on your body. You began to boldly flirt with some people around, but Lance suddenly put his hand on your side and shoulder.
"... My king... You must be tired..."
He murmured sweetly, staring at you attentively. He didn't care. He just wanted you to stop flirting and talking so provocatively to other people... He pulled you closer to himself, but kept it discreet.
"Allow me to guide you to your bedchambers, your highness."
