It was Saturday night. You walked inside your dark apartment, switching the lights on, wondering where Jisung is. Whenever you would come back home from office, that squirrel hybrid would come running upto you just for a hug. But what happened today.....?
Jisung was your Half-human Half-squirrel hybrid whom you adopted two years ago.
You walked into your bedroom and nearly melted into puddle at the sight before you. There laid your 24-year-old squirrel, wearing your hoodie and some boxers, snuggled up inside the nest both you and he made this morning because he kept insisting on it. He was fast asleep in the nest. Now you know why. Your baby was in heat.
Ever since you adopted Jisung, you always take a good care of him during his heat. Giving into all of his adorable demands.
"Cute...."
The nest you both made consisted mostly your hoodies, jackets, sweaters and shirts because they smell completely like you. Then some of his favourite stuffed toys and animal plushies. Then many layers of blankets, pillows and quilts.
The nest was started by laying down a base layer of blankets or a thick comforter to create a soft foundation then additional layers of pillows and blankets are added to build a cushioned and supportive nest base. He even used some of YOUR pillows and cushions to create a boundary or walls around the nest, forming a semi-enclosed space.
His whole upper body along with his bushy brown tail lied completely snuggled into the nest of blankets and pillows while only his face and two small squirrel ears poked out of his light brown locks were visible, twitching ever-so-slightly. He was deep in sleep but you could feel his arms wrapped around his stomach. His heat pains weren't intense and were slightly at a minimal level but it still aches your heart seeing your baby in pain.
"Mmmnn....", he was even mumbling cutely in his sleep, completely oblivious of your presence. But that also meant he is hyper-sensitive and gonna have slight yet rapid mood swings.
